Discover Portugal Through Photographs

Portugal, after innumerable invasions until the 16th century went on to establish its own empire. After setbacks in the later centuries, the country progressed to distinguish itself on many fronts. It is one of the most pleasant countries to visit or to live in. While the 'more advanced' countries, the latest example being Ireland, took their own time legalising even abortion, Portugal went ahead and legalised not just abortion but also gay marriages and even decriminalised drugs which eventually showed a better impact on the health system. This probably is a reflection of the mindset of the people who are fun loving, tolerant and offer a great atmosphere. The country teems with smiling hospitable people.

With Andes to the east and the Pacific to the west, this is one magnificent country. Name it and this country located in South America, has it. The mountains, the ocean, volcanoes, desert, monuments,wildlife, beaches and even Antarctic territory. You can spend a year in Chile and yet not know all of it.

Earlier in the Fantastic Beasts series, we introduced you to some the big cats of this world and provided advice on where to best see them in the wild. This week, we take a closer look at the largest canids that roam the mountains, forests and valleys across the globe.

In the past few weeks, wildlife enthusiast Leigh Woods has introduced you to some of the planet’s most weird and wonderful creatures and provided tips on where to spot them in their natural habitat.

Founded by the earliest British settlers in what they named as New England is historically best known for the Boston Tea Party when tea shipped by the British East India Company was to be sold without taxes in the U.S. This led to protests by the local settlers who would have lost their own tea business due to being rendered uncompetitive. They decided to raid the ship carrying the tea and dump it into the sea. The protest led to the revolution that eventually set the U.S. free from British colonisation.

Not just another middle eastern country to visit. While the country was established based on the UN resolution of 1947 to divide the state of Palestine for the formation of Israel, the country has grown to be one of the most powerful in the world, militarily, economically and technologically.
