The Government of Japan offers ten fellowships, to be awarded to candidates from developing countries, special attention wll be given to those who may wish to pursue their research studies in Japan, to women, candidates from the least developed countries, Africa, and DCs, Africa, and Small Island Developing States.
Particular areas of research include environment (with attention on disaster risk reduction), intercultural dialogue, information and communication technologies, and peaceful conflict resolution.
The fellowship will consist of a $10,000 contribution.
- Candidates should be post-graduate researchers already holding a Master’s degree and wishing to pursue research work abroad;
- Candidates must be born after 1 January 1978;
- Candidates must be proficient in reading and writing the language of instruction in the proposed country of study/research;
- Duration of proposed research is from three to nine months.
